Bullion. Aurum. Oro. One of the most valuable commodities dating all the way back to the Copper Age: Gold! Now I’m pretty sure we all know the sordid history of this precious metal. But this shiny yellow rock supposedly had more value than just great jewelry. So let’s horde some knowledge about the one, the Au-nly gold.

The facts are these: people all over the world since before recorded history liked gold. Western alchemists studied it to find out how to make more of it. Eastern alchemists thought it was the key to immortality. Although there’s much less hocus-pocus, we’re still determining golds effects on the human body to this day.

The only thing we can tell you for sure is that it’s expensive! Image via orogoldcosmetics.com
Medicinally gold is used in surgery to patch damaged blood vessels, nerves, bones and membranes. Since it is a noble metal and thus resistant to corrosion, it can be used inside the human body with little risk of infection.
But what about topical application? Well, to be honest the jury is still out on that one. Some companies say it helps to reduce aging and wrinkles while others say it’s good for stimulating blood flow and skin regeneration. So to answer the big question: We honestly don’t know if it’s good for the skin when applied topically. But it sure is nice to be able to say you have gold in your skin care products, isn’t it?
Which is why we here at The Raw Spa use gold in all of the Charlie Tango, Libertine, Marquis & Baron, Red Room and Whips & Kisses products! You can find them all HERE!
